Hampstead Theatre today announced the full cast for the London transfer of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s (RSC) acclaimed production of Titus Andronicus. The run, which will be strictly limited, is scheduled from September 5 to October 11.

Reprising the title role is the celebrated Simon Russell Beale, who returns to Hampstead Theatre after his lauded performances in The Invention of Love and Mr Foote’s Other Leg. A multi-award-winning actor, Beale’s accolades include three Olivier Awards and a Tony for his role in The Lehman Trilogy. His recent screen work includes a prominent role in HBO’s House of the Dragon.

Joining him is an exceptional cast of new and returning company members. Ken Nwosu takes on the role of Aaron, fresh from his work in White Noise at the Bridge Theatre and television series like Killing Eve. Emma Fielding returns as Marcia Andronicus, while Wendy Kweh reprises her role as Tamora, following her recent work at the National Theatre. Letty Thomas also returns as Lavinia.

The cast is further bolstered by Jeremy Ang Jones (Demetrius), Max Bennett (Saturninus), and Marlowe Chan-Reeves (Chiron), among others. The part of young Lucius will be shared by Charlie Banks and Osian Salter.

Director Max Webster’s "bold and brilliant" production frames Shakespeare’s notoriously bloody play through a modern lens, exploring themes of 21st-century aggression. The narrative follows victorious general Titus Andronicus as his act of vengeance spirals into a merciless cycle of retribution. The production arrives at Hampstead Theatre directly from a successful run at the RSC’s Swan Theatre.

Webster’s impressive directing credits include the Tony and Olivier Award-winning Life of Pi. The creative team features Joanna Scotcher (Set and Costume Designer) and Matthew Herbert (Composer).
