The Donmar Warehouse, currently enjoying critical acclaim with its revival of Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel, has today announced an ambitious Autumn 2025/26 season. Artistic Director Tim Sheader and Executive Director Henny Finch revealed three captivating new productions, including two world premieres, promising a diverse and thought-provoking theatrical experience.
Leading the new season is the world premiere of Mike Bartlett’s Juniper Blood, running from August 16 to October 4. Directed by the acclaimed James Macdonald, this new play delves into the true cost of idealism in an imperfect world. The production boasts a stellar cast including Terique Jarrett, Hattie Morahan, Nadia Parkes, Jonathan Slinger, and Sam Troughton.
Following this, the Donmar will host another world premiere with Kip Williams’ bold new translation and direction of Jean Genet’s The Maids. Opening on October 13 and playing until November 29, Williams makes his Donmar debut fresh off his Olivier and Tony Award-winning reimagining of The Picture of Dorian Gray. This promises to be a wild and compelling exploration of identity and obsessive desire.
The season culminates with a major revival of J.B. Priestley’s beloved comedy, When We Are Married, directed by Artistic Director Tim Sheader himself. Running from December 6 to February 7, 2026, the play features a star-studded cast including Siobhan Finneran, Samantha Spiro, Sophie Thompson, and Marc Wootton, promising a joyful and insightful look at long-buried truths within relationships.
Sheader and Finch emphasized the Donmar’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, confirming thousands of £20 tickets will be available for audiences aged 35 and under across all three productions. They also highlighted the Donmar LOCAL programme, which engages 6,000 local young people and works with 95% of secondary state schools in Camden and Westminster, fostering new pathways into the industry.
Priority booking for Donmar supporters opens from Thursday, July 10, with public booking commencing on Friday, July 18. This exciting new season solidifies the Donmar Warehouse's reputation as a vital hub for groundbreaking theatre in London.
