The Royal Ballet and Opera (RBO) is reaffirming its commitment to making world-class ballet and opera accessible to everyone, announcing a comprehensive array of inclusive performances for June and July 2025. These initiatives include British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted performances, Captioned performances, Audio Described performances, and accompanying Touch Tours, ensuring a richer experience for diverse audiences across its Covent Garden home.

"Providing world-class ballet and opera for everyone" is at the heart of RBO's mission, extending beyond live performances to its streaming services and the physical venue. This summer's access programme highlights two major productions: The Royal Ballet’s Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and The Royal Opera’s Il trovatore.

For Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, audiences can enjoy an Audio Described performance on Saturday, June 14, at 7:30 PM, preceded by a Touch Tour at 6:30 PM. Additionally, Captioned performances will be available on Saturday, June 28, at both 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM. This whimsical ballet promises a fantastical journey through Wonderland, filled with curious characters and enchanting choreography.

Verdi’s powerful opera, Il trovatore, will also feature enhanced accessibility. A British Sign Language interpreted performance is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, at 7:30 PM. An Audio Described performance will take place on Thursday, July 17, at 7:30 PM, with a Touch Tour beforehand at 6:30 PM. Known for its dramatic narrative and iconic music, including the famous Anvil Chorus, Il trovatore is an excellent entry point for opera newcomers.

The RBO encourages patrons to visit their accessibility page at www.rbo.org.uk/visit/access-at-rbo to learn more about their access scheme, upcoming accessible performances, and other inclusive offers. Details for the next season's accessible performances are expected in mid-July.
