Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is set to transform into a vibrant hub of movement and rhythm on Sunday, July 20, 2025, with its much-anticipated Dance Takeover. As part of its Open Air Theatre Festival series, this all-day event promises a diverse programme of professional workshops and culminates in an electrifying performance by the acclaimed Boy Blue.
Dance enthusiasts can hone their skills in workshops led by some of the UK’s leading companies and choreographers. The morning kicks off with sessions from McOnie Company, led by Artistic Director Drew McOnie himself, and a neoclassical ballet class by Ballet Black’s Senior Artist Isabela Coracy. Later in the day, participants can dive into high-energy contemporary with Rambert, explore integrated sign language choreography with Deaf Men Dancing, delve into touring repertoire with London City Ballet, or engage in narrative dance theatre with renowned choreographer Arthur Pita. Each professional workshop is priced at £18.
The day’s festivities will culminate with Boy Blue in the Park at 7:30 PM. This performance promises dynamic hip-hop choreography by Kenrick ‘H20’ Sandy and fellow Boy Blue artists, set to exciting soundtracks composed by Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante. Audiences are encouraged to arrive early for a pre-show DJ set on the picnic lawn, creating a perfect summer evening atmosphere. For those eager to deepen their experience, an exclusive Boy Blue Open Class is available at 5:30 PM for an additional £8, limited to those with evening show tickets.
Tickets for Boy Blue in the Park range from £17.50 - £27.50 and are available now at www.openairtheatre.com. This Dance Takeover is one of four Open Air Theatre Festivals planned for the 2025 summer season, with comedy and music takeovers yet to be announced.
