The highly anticipated UK and Europe tour of the smash-hit musical The Bodyguard will launch at Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre on Saturday 20 September 2025, with a stellar new cast leading the production.

Producers Michael Harrison and David Ian have confirmed that international musical theatre star Sidonie Smith will take on the iconic role of Rachel Marron. Smith is no stranger to the character, having previously received acclaim for her portrayal in the German production of the show. Olivier Award nominee Adam Garcia will star opposite her as former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer, the bodyguard tasked with protecting the superstar singer.

Joining them are Sasha Monique as Rachel’s sister Nicki Marron and television favourite Matt Milburn as slick talent manager Sy Spector. At select performances, the role of Rachel Marron will be performed by Mireia Mambo, whose extensive credits include A Chorus Line, Sunset Boulevard, and international tours of The Bodyguard and Sister Act.

Based on the 1992 Oscar-nominated film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, The Bodyguard tells the story of a world-famous singer who falls for her bodyguard amidst the threat of a dangerous stalker. The musical is packed with timeless hits including “Queen of the Night,” “Run to You,” “I Have Nothing,” and “I Will Always Love You.”

Originally premiering at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End, the production has played to over 3.9 million people in 15 countries, making it one of the most successful musical adaptations of a film. Directed by Thea Sharrock with a book by Oscar-winner Alex Dinelaris, this new tour is expected to be another blockbuster run.

The tour will travel to major cities across the UK and Europe through 2026, including stops in Manchester, Dublin, Berlin, Zurich, and more. Full tour listings and tickets are available at www.thebodyguardmusical.com.

This powerful new production promises audiences romance, drama, and an unforgettable soundtrack that continues to captivate fans across generations.
