Celebrated photographer and performer Benji Reid brings his powerful and genre-defying production Find Your Eyes to Sadler’s Wells East from Wednesday 4 to Saturday 7 June. Originally commissioned for Manchester International Festival 2023, the show has toured globally and now arrives in London’s cultural quarter in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Blending photography, theatre and choreography, Find Your Eyes offers a rare glimpse into Reid’s creative universe. Set within a photography studio reimagined as a stage, the show unfolds as a deeply personal journey through some of the most poignant chapters of his life. From medical emergencies and suicide to abortion and addiction, Reid fearlessly explores the depths of human vulnerability while crafting visually stunning live images before the audience’s eyes.

Coining the term “choreo-photolist” to describe his practice, Reid fuses movement and stillness to create moments of Afro-futurist surrealism that challenge and captivate. Each scene is a hyper-reality, where storytelling is both emotional and meticulously composed, with dancers and camera work woven seamlessly into the narrative.

As a pioneer of hip hop theatre and an award-winning visual artist, Reid brings decades of experience to the stage. His previous work has been showcased at prestigious venues including the National Theatre, PS122 in New York, and the Sydney Opera House. His photography has also featured in landmark exhibitions such as Get Up, Stand Up Now at Somerset House and Styles of Resistance at MoCADA in New York.

Find Your Eyes is not just a performance — it’s a living artwork that unfolds in real time, drawing audiences into Reid’s world of vulnerability, resilience, and imagination.

Tickets start from £15. For bookings, visit sadlerswells.com or call 020 7863 8000. Press night takes place on Wednesday 4 June at 7.30pm.
