Hampstead Theatre has released the official trailer for its critically acclaimed production of Kimberly Akimbo, directed by Michael Longhurst.
The Tony Award-winning musical, featuring a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, runs at the London venue through Saturday, 7 November 2026.
Four-time Olivier Award winner Maria Friedman leads the cast as Kimberly Levaco, alongside Alice Fearn as Debra, Peter Hannah as Buddy Levaco, Gilli Jones as Seth Weetis, and Niamh Perry as Pattie Levaco. The company also features Sara Hajizadeh, Ronav Jain, Robin Simões da Silva, and Aviva Tulley, with Rachel Flynn and Daniel Walford serving as swings.
Kimberly Akimbo won five Tony Awards in 2023, including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book. The narrative follows 16-year-old Kimberly Levaco, a teenager living with a rare genetic condition that causes her body to age at four times the normal rate. Set against the backdrop of her eccentric family and school life, the story navigates her pursuit of happiness, connection, and self-discovery under extraordinary time constraints.
The production brings together a distinguished creative team led by director Michael Longhurst and designer Soutra Gilmour. Musical supervision and direction are provided by Nigel Lilley, with choreography by Matt Cole, lighting design by Jack Knowles, sound design by Paul Groothuis, and video design by Luke Halls. Casting for the production was handled by Anna Cooper CDG.
The trailer offers a first look at the West End and Broadway talents bringing Lindsay-Abaire and Tesori’s celebrated score to the Hampstead stage following its successful London opening.
