Producers Jamie Lloyd and Michael Harrison have announced additional casting for the upcoming Broadway transfer of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita.
Following its acclaimed, sold-out run at the London Palladium, Jamie Lloyd’s revival will open at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre in spring 2027. Preview performances begin on Saturday, 27 February 2027, ahead of an official opening night on Thursday, 25 March.
Olivier Award winner Rachel Zegler will reprise her celebrated role as Eva Perón, leading a company that features several of her original West End co-stars. Olivier Award nominee Diego Rodriguez returns as Che, while James Olivas makes his Broadway debut as Juan Perón. Bella Brown transfers to Broadway as The Mistress while continuing as the alternate Eva Perón for select performances. Ángel Lozada joins the principal cast as Agustín Magaldi.
The Broadway production follows the revival's critical success in London, where it earned two Olivier Awards, including Best Actress in a Musical for Zegler, alongside five WhatsOnStage Awards and Best Musical at the London Standard Theatre Awards. The London full-length cast recording, featuring Zegler’s chart-topping version of "Don’t Cry For Me Argentina," is currently streaming across all platforms.
The ensemble features Giuseppe Bausilio, Mely Berdion, Brandon Borkowsky, Ayla Ciccone-Burton, Grace Conrad, Christian Jesús Galvis, Tommy Gedrich, Sydney Jones, Natasha Leaver, Maggie Likcani, Mireia Mambo, Sebastian Martinez, Justice Moore, Pepe Muñoz, Julio Rey, Ken San Jose, Victor Carrillo Tracey, Damani Van Rensalier, and J'Kobe Wallace.
Swings include Alexis Hasbrouck, AK Naderer, Regine Sophia, Francisco Thurston, Bryce Valle, and Michael Bryan Wang.
Evita will occupy the Winter Garden Theatre immediately following Lloyd’s limited engagement of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, which begins previews in October 2026.
