Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical RENT has announced a day seat ticketing initiative for its upcoming 30th-anniversary production at London’s Tom Stoppard Theatre.
To mark the premiere, 100 stalls tickets will be released for £20 each for the first preview performance on Saturday 26 September 2026. The initiative echoes RENT’s original Broadway rush policy, which famously offered $20 front-row seats on a first-come, first-served basis. The £20 preview tickets will be available exclusively in person at the Tom Stoppard Theatre box office from 12:00 noon on the day, capped at two tickets per person.
For all remaining preview performances up to 7 October, front-row seats will be priced at £30 for day-of-show in-person purchases from 10:30am. From Friday 9 October onwards, a digital day-seat lottery will launch for the main run.
Directed by Luke Sheppard with choreography by Tom Jackson Greaves, this West End revival stars Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo as Mark, Travis Ross as Roger, Alexa Lopez as Mimi, Billy Nevers as Collins, Lazy Violet as Maureen, Olivier Award nominee Danielle Fiamanya as Joanne, Jeevan Braich as Angel, and Joaquin Pedro Valdes as Benny.
The ensemble features Baylie Carson, Laura Delany, Ryesha Higgs, Montoya Holloway-Johnson, Rhys Hopkins, Shem Omari James, Hannah Macpherson, TJ Matara-Holloway, Ryan Nixon, Leah Vassell, James Wilkinson-Jones, and Kevin Yates.
Inspired by Puccini's opera La Bohème, RENT follows a group of young artists, musicians, and friends in New York's East Village navigating love, creative ambition, and the HIV/AIDS crisis in the mid-1990s.
Produced in the West End by Chris Harper Productions, Sonia Friedman Productions, Winkler & Smalberg, and Julie Larson in association with Hope Mill Theatre, the production officially opens on 8 October 2026 following previews, with bookings extended through 27 March 2027.
