Producers Yeonwoo Stage and ILOVESTAGE UK Ltd have announced the cast for the second London showcase of the original Korean musical The Goddess Is Watching. Taking place at the Charing Cross Theatre on Monday, 12 October 2026, the invitation-only industry showcase represents the final stage of the production's current UK development process ahead of a planned full West End staging in 2027.

The cast features JoJo Meredith (Wicked) as Seokgu, Xander Pang (Death Note The Musical) as Yeongbeom, Laurence Mossman (Miss Saigon) as Donghyeon, Chloe Saracco (Into The Woods) as The Goddess, Joe Thompson-Oubari (The Three Little Pigs) as Sunho, and Jack Ofrecio (Next to Normal) as Juhwa. Casting for the role of Changseop is ongoing and will be announced separately.

Set during the Korean War, The Goddess Is Watching follows six soldiers from opposing sides who find themselves stranded on an uninhabited island. To comfort a deeply traumatised young soldier, the group fabricates the story of a protective goddess watching over their sanctuary. What begins as a gentle lie designed for survival slowly bridges the ideological divide, allowing the enemies to rediscover their shared humanity.

The upcoming showcase will be directed by Bronagh Lagan (Cruise), with Colm O'Regan returning as Musical Director. Building on its initial English-language workshop at The Other Palace in November 2025, this revised presentation focuses on refining the script's dramatic context, character relationships, and emotional narrative for Western audiences.

The project represents an ongoing cultural collaboration between the Korean and British theatre industries, bringing together acclaimed Korean source material with UK-based creative teams and performers.

While the showcase performance on 12 October 2026 is primarily an industry-only event for theatre professionals, producers, and potential investors, a limited number of invitations may be released to the public subject to venue capacity.
