Sadler’s Wells has unveiled three major additions to its 2027 calendar, featuring the celebrated National Theatre staging of Ballet Shoes, a bold revival by Associate Artist Jasmin Vardimon, and a powerful mixed bill from the São Paulo Dance Company.
Opening the lineup in February 2027, Jasmin Vardimon Company brings a reimagined version of Lullaby to Sadler’s Wells East. Originally premiered in 2003 as Vardimon’s choreographic breakthrough, this expanded staging revisits the stark setting of a hospital ward to explore vulnerability, resilience, and human connection through physical movement and signature wit.
Simultaneously, the main stage at Sadler’s Wells Theatre hosts the UK return of São Paulo Dance Company, presented by Dance Consortium. The triple bill Brazilian Perspectives highlights three female choreographers from Brazil: Cassi Abranches’s Agora, which explores rhythm through Afro-Brazilian percussive fusion; Leilane Teles’s Umbó, blending evocative vocal textures with traditional movement; and Lili de Grammont’s Est.ação, examining climate change and human connection through tension and humor.
The summer season culminates with the National Theatre’s acclaimed adaptation of Noel Streatfeild’s Ballet Shoes, arriving at Sadler’s Wells Theatre as part of a UK tour. Adapted by Kendall Feaver and directed by Katy Rudd, the production features Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke making his National Theatre debut as Great Uncle Matthew and Fidolia for selected performances.
Priority booking for the new 2027 season opens to Sadler’s Wells Patrons on Tuesday 15 September 2026, followed by Rehearsal Members on Thursday 17 September and Members on Friday 18 September. Tickets go on general sale to the public on Thursday 24 September 2026.
