Artistic Director Corey Campbell and Interim CEO Emma Flatley have unveiled details for the Belgrade Theatre Coventry’s 2027 Spring Season, featuring a line-up of award-winning drama, new comedy, and family entertainment.
Headlining the theatre season is James Graham’s Punch, winner of the 2026 Olivier Award for Best New Play, which visits the venue from 20th to 24th April 2027 as part of a UK tour. The season also features the world premiere of Nanny of the Maroons (18th June to 3rd July 2027), written by Corey Campbell and Lucia Haynes, which tells the story of an 18th-century freedom fighter and has been developed through the Belgrade’s community co-creation process.
Additional drama highlights include Dash Arts’ Ukrainian-centred play The Reckoning (28th to 30th January 2027), Original Theatre’s new comedy The Other Side of Murder by Torben Betts, starring Rufus Hound and Susie Blake (16th to 20th March 2027), and A Thing of Beauty (23rd to 24th March 2027), a psychological drama exploring the life of filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl.
For younger audiences, the venue will host the world premiere adaptation of Piers Torday’s The Last Wild (20th to 24th April 2027), presented by the Unicorn Theatre and National Theatre, alongside The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show (3rd to 5th June 2027).
The spring schedule is completed by live comedy from Sue Perkins and Kane Brown, performances from the Ukrainian National Opera, and music tributes celebrating Bob Marley, ABBA, Whitney Houston, and The Beach Boys.
