Hollywood star Rachel Zegler delighted the cast of Disenchanted! when she attended a performance of the musical at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Zegler, who starred in the title role of Disney's live-action Snow White last year, met backstage with the cast at The Pentland Theatre at Pleasance at EICC following the performance.
Rachel Zegler met on stage with cast members Lois Glenister, who plays Snow White, alongside Rosie Napper as Cinderella, Roshaan Saulnier as Sleeping Beauty, Jewelle Hutchinson as The Princess (Who Kissed a Frog), Ashley New as Hua Mulan, and Eliza Bowden as the Little Mermaid. The surprise visit comes as the production continues its debut run as part of the annual Scottish festival.
Disenchanted! is making its UK professional premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, presented by The Production Garden and Lichfield Garrick. Created by Dennis T. Giacino and Fiely Matias, the satirical musical comedy turns classic fairy tales on their head, ditching the traditional "happily ever after" for a irreverent, pop-fueled performance with zero damsels in distress. Celebrating 20 years since its inception, the show has wowed audiences off-Broadway and across five continents.
Creators Dennis T. Giacino and Fiely Matias expressed their excitement about bringing their show to the Fringe, describing it as a full-circle moment after getting their start at fringe festivals worldwide. The current production is directed by Daniel Buckroyd, featuring musical direction from Joanne King, choreography by Kayleigh Dettmer, and set and costume designs by Sara Perks.
Disenchanted! runs at The Pentland Theatre, Pleasance at EICC, through Sunday, August 30, 2026, with daily evening performances. The cast will also host a costumed press call with props outside the venue on Monday, August 10, at 9:30 AM. Tickets and booking details for the 80-minute production are available directly through the official Pleasance website.
