Producers of the world premiere of The Pianist have revealed the full cast joining previously announced lead Daniel Krikler in the new musical stage adaptation of Wladyslaw Szpilman’s landmark memoir. The production, inspired by the book that also led to Roman Polanski’s Academy Award-winning film, features Szpilman's original compositions and opens in Southampton and London this autumn.
Joining Krikler as Wladyslaw Szpilman are Rosalind Ford as Mother, Oliver Grant as Hosenfeld, TJ Holmes as Father, Mischa Jardine as Janina, Elzbieta Kalicka as Regina, Nitai Levi as Henryk, Melania Maggiore as Halina, and Max Roll as Gimpel/Majorek. They are supported by ensemble members Oliver Magor and Erin Rowlatt, making her professional stage debut.
Adapted and directed by Thom Southerland, The Pianist will debut at Mayflower Studios, Southampton, from 9 to 12 September 2026, before transferring to London's Park Theatre from 15 October to 28 November 2026, with a press night on 22 October.

"Throughout the casting process, we have been searching for exceptional performers who are not only outstanding actors, but accomplished musicians and truly versatile storytellers, capable of meeting the unique demands of this production."
Performed by a cast of actor-musicians, the production brings together Szpilman's popular songs and classical compositions with new musical arrangements by Simon Lee. The musical also features new lyrics from an international songwriting team, including Carol Connors, David Batteau, Wendy Lands, Jim Gillard, Michael Ruff, Marcy Heisler, and Szpilman’s son, Andreas Szpilman.
The creative team includes choreographer Karen Bruce, set and video designer Andrzej Goulding, costume designer Jonathan Lipman, lighting designer Robbie Butler, sound designer Gareth Tucker for Autograph Sound, and musical director Malcolm Forbes-Peckham. General management is handled by DEM Productions.
