The producers of Burlesque the Musical have confirmed that the show’s highly anticipated UK tour will officially launch this summer, with almost 90,000 tickets already sold and nearly £4 million taken in advance box office sales. Following final technical preparations, the production will launch in Sunderland before visiting 24 venues nationwide.
To ensure the creative team has the necessary time to deliver the full theatrical spectacle, planned opening performances in Woking have moved to 3–7 November 2026. Producers confirmed the tour is fully financed and on a secure financial footing, allowing the team to focus on bringing the highest-quality production to audiences across the UK.
Additionally, the production’s planned London engagement has been strategically postponed to 2027. Producers clarified that the move is a postponement rather than a cancellation, designed to ensure the show returns to the West End with the full experiential sound design and razzle-dazzle audiences expect. The UK tour also marks the start of a broader global rollout, with international productions in Australia, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland currently in the pipeline.
Based on Steven Antin’s Golden Globe-winning film starring Christina Aguilera and Cher, Burlesque the Musical is a high-voltage theatrical event packed with powerhouse vocals, jaw-dropping choreography, and outrageous glamour. The story follows Ali as she travels to New York searching for her mother, Tess Richarde, only to be swept into a dazzling underground world of ambition, music, and desire.
Featuring songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley, Todrick Hall, and Steven Antin, the show celebrates self-discovery and empowerment. The creative team is led by writer and creative director Steven Antin, director Racky Plews, and choreographer Robin Antin.
The 2026–2027 UK tour will visit major cities including Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, and Edinburgh, alongside stops in Sheffield, Nottingham, and Oxford. Audiences across the country can catch the production throughout the nationwide run before it returns to London in 2027.
