VAULT Creative Arts (VCA) has announced the official launch of its newly refurbished venue, the Lower Marsh Arts Club, opening this autumn. Formerly known as The Glitch, the venue—affectionately dubbed LowMAC—marks the organization's transition to a permanent fixture within London’s performing arts ecosystem.
VCA was founded in 2021 out of the acclaimed VAULT Festival, which welcomed over 100,000 audience members across 500 shows during its final 2023 edition. After losing its physical home in 2024, the festival was forced to close. In response, the VCA team transformed their café and bar, The Glitch, into a year-round creative hub. In its first year alone, the venue hosted over 400 shows and supported more than 1,000 artists through comprehensive development initiatives and programming.
Starting 7 September 2026, the venue officially rebrands as the Lower Marsh Arts Club. The space will host up to three performances per night, featuring a diverse lineup of theatre, comedy, and cabaret. To keep performance spaces accessible, programming will operate via open callouts alongside some of the most affordable rental rates in London.
LowMAC will also host three dedicated annual festivals, including the Highlight festival for Fringe previews in July and a new writing festival in November.
The organisation will continue expanding its flagship artist support schemes, including the Stephen Joseph Transfer, which grants headline artists the opportunity to transfer their productions directly to The Cockpit. Social and networking events will also run regularly to help emerging performers build creative communities.
Artistic Director Oli Savage expressed excitement for the venue's next chapter, noting that LowMAC aims to honor the legacy of VAULT Festival while building an innovative future for London fringe theatre. He emphasized that the space is designed to put early-career artists first, giving them the tools and environment needed to do their best work.
