The Bridge Theatre has unveiled first-look production photographs of its upcoming staging of The Oresteia. Written and directed by Simon Stone, this new adaptation draws inspiration from Aeschylus and other classic sources. The production, presented by the London Theatre Company in collaboration with Wouter van Ransbeek, is currently in previews ahead of its official opening night on Tuesday 14 July.
Stone's version reframes the ancient narrative around a contemporary family who unexpectedly wake up trapped within a Greek myth, seemingly unable to escape a hellish destiny. The production features a high-profile ensemble cast led by two-time Tony Award winner Mary-Louise Parker as Montie and David Morrissey as Christopher.
They are joined by Tom Glynn-Carney as Augie and Rosie Sheehy—an Olivier Award nominee in both 2025 and 2026—as Alice. The main acting company is completed by Lloyd Hutchinson, John Macmillan, Archie Madekwe, Alyth Ross, and Rakhee Thakrar, with understudy support from Seán Donegan, George Renshaw, Andy Umerah, Emily Waters, and Kirsty Yates.
Behind the scenes, Stone's vision is supported by an extensive creative team. Lizzie Clachan oversees the set design, while Emma White is responsible for the costumes. The atmospheric environment of the production is constructed through lighting design by Nick Schlieper, sound design by Peter Rice, and original music composed by Katrina Rose.
Additional technical and creative management is provided by casting director Jessica Ronane, fight director Sam Lyon-Behan, production manager Jim Leaver, and associate director Benedict Crosby. The team also includes intimacy coordinator David Thackeray, costume supervisor Anna Josephs, hair and make-up supervisor Suzanne Scotcher, and props supervisor Lily Mollgaard.
The Oresteia will continue its limited run at the venue throughout the summer, concluding performances on Saturday 19 September 2026. Tickets for the production can be purchased through the venue's official website.
