The first-ever stage adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ internationally acclaimed book series and Lionsgate’s blockbuster film franchise has officially extended its London run. Due to monumental demand, The Hunger Games: On Stage will now continue performances through to February 14, 2027. Tickets for the newly extended performance block starting in October go on general sale this week via the production's official website.

The epic dystopian spectacle is housed at the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, a dynamic, purpose-built 1,200-seat theater-in-the-round venue engineered specifically to accommodate the show’s ambitious, high-tech staging.

To celebrate the extension, theatergoers visiting the venue throughout May and June will be treated to two exclusive foyer exhibits. The spacious venue entrance currently hosts an exhibition of original screen costumes worn in the Hollywood movie franchise, alongside a striking, immersive floral installation celebrating the upcoming film release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

The extension coincides with the official launch of the Songbird Restaurant & Bar as a standalone dining destination within the theater complex. The 125-cover waterfront venue has expanded beyond its popular pre-theater menu to launch a dedicated lunch and dinner à la carte service for non-theatergoers, offering seasonal British cooking, creative cocktails, and private dining rooms.

The celebrated production has been adapted for the stage by Conor McPherson and is helmed by renowned director Matthew Dunster (2:22 A Ghost Story). The first-year company is led by Mia Carragher as Katniss Everdeen and Euan Garrett as Peeta Mellark, with Hollywood legend John Malkovich appearing on screen as President Snow. The second-year cast is scheduled to take over performances on October 20, 2026, with casting announcements to follow.

Set in a brutal dystopian future, the narrative follows 24 young tributes forced to compete to the death in a televised arena battle. Katniss Everdeen's fierce defiance transforms her into an unexpected symbol of rebellion against the oppressive Capitol, delivering a timeless, thrilling story that has sold over 100 million books worldwide.
