Woolwich Works, South East London’s premier cultural hub, has unveiled a packed schedule of family-friendly events, live performances, and creative workshops for the remainder of 2026. From world-record-breaking bubble artistry to interactive clay play, the historic Royal Arsenal venue is set to become the go-to destination for families seeking inspiration and entertainment.

The season kicks off in style on 10 May with Nick Sharratt’s Picture Book Drawalong. The celebrated author and illustrator behind Shark in the Park and Pants will guide young artists through a series of games and drawing tips, encouraging them to bring their own materials and create original characters.

Later in May, during the summer half-term, the award-winning Indefinite Articles presents Claytime (29 May). This unique, interactive play session for children aged 3–6 invites participants to use their imaginations to transform natural clay into art, ensuring no two sessions are ever the same. On 14 June, science meets storytelling in The Bubble Show, where Guinness World Record holder Highland Joker will dazzle audiences with fire tornadoes and bubble volcanoes.

As the year progresses, the theatre programme ramps up for the October half-term. Highlights include The Museum of Marvellous Things on 11 October, followed by the highly anticipated There’s a Monster in Your Show on 24 October. The imaginative fun continues with Out of the Box (25 October) and November’s whimsical offerings, Mr Sleepybum’s Dream Machine and Captain Cauliflower & Marvin the Mischievous Moose.

For families with older children, celebrated poet and comic John Hegley will perform on 8 May. His show, New and Selected Potatoes, is designed for adults but is perfectly suited for those aged nine and above, featuring a mix of classic and brand-new poems and songs.

"This programme is all about giving families the chance to experience brilliant live performance," says Nick Williams, Director at Woolwich Works. "We want this to be a place where children and adults alike can discover something new and feel inspired together."

Located at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich Works is easily accessible via the Elizabeth Line, DLR, and Thames Clipper. Tickets and full listings are available at woolwich.works.
