Producer Adrian Grant has announced that the critically acclaimed production I’m Every Woman – The Chaka Khan Musical will transfer to the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre for a strictly limited season this summer. Running from 22 July to 27 September 2026, the musical features multi-platinum recording artist and award-winning actress Alexandra Burke in the title role.
Following successful premiere performances earlier this year in Hackney, Coventry, and Eastbourne, the production brings the life of the ten-time Grammy Award winner to a major London stage. The musical, which holds its press night on 4 August, explores the "fame, the fire, and the fight" of the global superstar, charting her meteoric rise from the lead singer of Rufus to a solo icon.
With a book by Nia T. Hill and direction by Racky Plews, the show moves beyond the glitz of stardom to reveal the woman behind the legend. The narrative explores Chaka Khan’s unwavering commitment to civil rights, her struggles within a toxic music industry, her journey through addiction, and the pressures of balancing a career with motherhood.
Chaka Khan, who is closely involved with the production, described the show as more than just her biography: "It’s every woman’s story. It’s about finding your voice, owning your truth, and rising through everything life throws at you."
The production is anchored by a powerhouse score of Khan’s most beloved hits, including "I Feel For You," "Ain’t Nobody," "Tell Me Something Good," and "Through the Fire." Audiences can expect a 2-hour and 20-minute journey through music, love, and betrayal, featuring an array of famous figures from the singer's storied career.
Alexandra Burke, celebrated for her roles in The Bodyguard and Sister Act, leads the cast in what is described as an unapologetically bold and deeply human portrayal. Tickets are now on sale for this limited engagement at Wembley, which promises to be a definitive celebration of one of the most influential voices in music history.
