Cameron Mackintosh has officially confirmed that the acclaimed original principal cast of Lionel Bart’s Oliver! will extend their run at the Gielgud Theatre. As the production enters its second year in the West End, the full London cast will take the stage from 10 February 2026, continuing the momentum of a show the Financial Times has dubbed a "24 Carat Must-See."

Award-Winning Talent Remains at the Helm

Leading the company is Simon Lipkin, whose "remarkable and show-stopping" portrayal of Fagin earned him an Olivier Award nomination last year. Lipkin is joined by a powerhouse principal team including Ava Brennan as the tragic Nancy and Aaron Sidwell as the menacing Bill Sikes.

The core cast is rounded out by Aaron MacGregor as the Artful Dodger, Oscar Conlon-Morrey as Mr. Bumble, and Katy Secombe as Widow Corney. Other returning favorites include Stephen Matthews (Mr. Sowerberry/Dr. Grimwig), Jamie Birkett (Mrs. Sowerberry/Mrs. Bedwin), and Philip Franks as Mr. Brownlow. The title role of Oliver Twist will be shared by Isaac Hackett, James Miller, Thomas Newman, and Jacob Sanders-Jones.

A Masterpiece Reimagined

Produced and revised by Cameron Mackintosh, this production is a "thrilling reinvention" directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne alongside co-director Jean-Pierre van der Spuy. The creative team, featuring lighting by Paule Constable and design by Lez Brotherston, has breathed new life into Dickens’ murky Victorian underworld.

Audiences can expect the full impact of Lionel Bart’s sensational score, with iconic numbers like “Food Glorious Food,” “Consider Yourself,” and “As Long As He Needs Me” benefiting from new orchestrations by Stephen Metcalfe.

A West End Staple

Since its opening, this Chichester Festival Theatre production has solidified its place as a cornerstone of the current London theatre scene. With a blend of seasoned West End veterans and a rotating team of talented young performers in Fagin’s gang, the show continues to vividly bring to life the timeless story of the boy who asked for more.
