Fans of the underworld have a new reason to celebrate as Warner Music Group’s Arts Music and Sing It Again Records announce the release of "Our Lady of the Underground." This previously unreleased single is the latest gem from the Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning "Best Musical," Hadestown.
Performed by the powerhouse Gloria Onitiri, who originated the role of Persephone in the West End, the track captures the electric energy of the show’s vibrant second-act opener. The single serves as a highlight for the broader release of Hadestown: Live from London, an album that has already made waves by debuting at #9 on Billboard’s Cast Album sales chart.
A Landmark Recording
Recorded live at the Lyric Theatre on August 25, 2024, the album was produced by a trio of Grammy winners: David Lai, Todd Sickafoose, and the show’s visionary creator, Anaïs Mitchell. It features the acclaimed original London cast, including Dónal Finn (Orpheus), Grace Hodgett Young (Eurydice), and Zachary James (Hades).
For audiophiles, the digital release marks a milestone in theater history as one of the first West End cast recordings to be mixed in Dolby Atmos, providing a fully immersive surround-sound experience.
