Cameron Mackintosh has confirmed that the powerhouse vocalist and stage favorite Lucie Jones is set to make a triumphant return to the Sondheim Theatre. Jones will reprise her acclaimed portrayal of Fantine in the West End production of Les Misérables for a strictly limited engagement from Monday, January 19, to Saturday, April 11, 2026.
A Celebrated Return
Jones is no stranger to the tragic and iconic role of Fantine, having previously earned rave reviews for her performances in the West End and, most recently, during the Les Misérables The Arena Spectacular world tour. Known for her emotional depth and soaring vocals on "I Dreamed a Dream," her return is a highly anticipated highlight of the 2026 London theater season.
She joins a formidable principal cast led by Ian McIntosh as Jean Valjean and Sam Oladeinde as Javert. The company also features Adam Gillen and Claire Machin as the Thénardiers, Thiago Phillip Felizardo as Marius, Amena El-kindy as Éponine, Joe Griffiths-Brown as Enjolras, and Izzi Levine as Cosette.
A Global Phenomenon
The announcement comes as Les Misérables continues to bask in its status as a cultural juggernaut. Last October, the production celebrated a record-breaking 40th anniversary in the West End. Since its debut, the musical has:
Been seen by over 150 million people across 55 countries.
Won more than 270 major awards, including a special recognition Olivier Award in April 2025.
Provided anthems of revolution and hope that have been translated into 22 languages.
Ticket Information
Fans are encouraged to book early for this limited run, as further casting updates for February onwards are expected shortly. The production at the Sondheim Theatre is currently booking through October 3, 2026, with tickets starting from £25.
Whether it is your first time at the barricade or your fiftieth, the return of Lucie Jones promises to bring a fresh, poignant energy to the "longest-running and most popular musical in the world."
