London’s rich theatrical history is getting a vibrant new chapter this December. The iconic Pentameters Theatre, recognized as one of the city's very first modern pub theatres, is set to reopen as The Circle & Star Theatre. Located above The Horseshoe pub in Hampstead, the 60-seat venue is poised to revive a half-century-old creative landmark.

The relaunch is spearheaded by actor, writer, and musician Steve Furst (better known as his alter ego, Lenny Beige), who will host the press and members launch night on Monday, December 8, 2025.

The opening season boasts an impressive roster of Britain's most recognizable talent across comedy, music, and conversation. Highlights include appearances by Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Mel Giedroyc, Matt Berry, and Marcus Brigstocke. Newly announced shows will feature restaurant critic and musician Jay Rayner, composer David Arnold, comedian Simon Day, impressionist Jess Robinson, and the paranormal stylings of Clinton Baptiste.

Furst emphasizes the venue's spirit: "The Circle & Star Theatre is about bringing people together in a space that’s full of history, warmth and creativity."

Beyond the individual shows, the theatre will host regular monthly residencies curated by composer Guy Chambers, renowned composer David Arnold, and comedy producer Debs Tammer, focusing on showcasing new and rising talent.

In a move to ensure the theatre's long-term sustainability, proceeds from the entire opening season will be dedicated to funding a General Manager role starting in February 2026. With modern facilities, livestreaming capabilities, and the charm of a traditional pub setting, The Circle & Star Theatre is set to bring Hampstead's artistic community back to life.
