Disco fever hits London this autumn as GET DOWN TONIGHT, the feel-good KC and The Sunshine Band musical, makes its glittering London premiere at Charing Cross Theatre for an exclusive eight-week run from 19 September – 15 November 2025.
Inspired by the true story of Harry Wayne Casey (KC) — the three-time GRAMMY®-winning frontman of KC and The Sunshine Band — this vibrant new musical celebrates the infectious energy of 1970s Miami and the music that defined a generation. Directed and choreographed by Lisa Stevens, with a book by Pretty Woman: The Musical’s J.F. Lawton, the production features over 20 of the band’s greatest hits, including Get Down Tonight, That’s The Way (I Like It) and Give It Up.
Developed with KC himself, GET DOWN TONIGHT tells the uplifting story of four friends chasing dreams and discovering their identities through music, friendship and love — all to the beat of the iconic ‘Sunshine Sound’: a funky, feel-good blend of disco, R&B and pop. The show has evolved from its successful 2024 Edinburgh Fringe run (Who Do Ya Love?) and will now run as a 90-minute production with no interval.
Casey said: “There’s something infectious about dance music and how it lets people escape while finding themselves. This show is about the magic of music and how it shaped my journey — and hopefully, it'll get everyone on their feet.”
Produced by ATG Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions, Harry Wayne Casey, CTK Enterprises and LPO, GET DOWN TONIGHT is set to be the must-see nostalgia trip of the year.
