The cast has been announced for STOREHOUSE, a groundbreaking new immersive production set to transport audiences into a sprawling 9,000-square metre underworld. This unique space archives humanity’s stories from the dawn of the internet.

STOREHOUSE marks the debut production from Sage & Jester, a new company whose collective experience spans renowned immersive experiences like Secret Cinema and Punchdrunk, as well as BBC Studios and Warner Music. The production promises to be one of the most artistically ambitious and large-scale immersive theatre events ever staged in the UK, delivering a cutting-edge and thought-provoking journey.

The narrative of STOREHOUSE, which explores our role in today’s information ecosystem, will be guided by a multi-award-winning cast of voiceover actors portraying the four founding members. These voices will be joined by a cast of live performers within the Deptford location.

The stellar voiceover cast includes the multi-award-winning Toby Jones (Mr Burton, Tetris, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Mr Bates vs The Post Office) and celebrated Meera Syal CBE FRSL (Paddington 2; The Kumars at No. 42; Yesterday; The Devil's Hour). They are joined by the formidable Kathryn Hunter (Black Doves; Poor Things; Harry Potter; Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead) and rising star Billy Howle (Dear Octopus; The Perfect Couple; On Chesil Beach; The Serpent).

These acclaimed actors will bring to life a group of radical visionaries who believed that by storing and analysing all human knowledge, they could usher in a new digital consciousness. The monumental production fuses art, technology, and cutting-edge storytelling, aiming to challenge audience perceptions of truth, trust, and the narratives that shape our world.

Leading the physical company in Deptford will be Nina Smith (Britannia, Sky; Doctors, BBC), Dawn Butler (Doctors, BBC), Bonnie Adair (Here We Go, BBC; Innocent, ITV), and Zachary Pang (Disney Channel Asia; Julie: The Musical, The Other Palace). They will be joined by Nat Kennedy, Elizabeth Hollingshead, Chris Agha, Harriett O’Grady, Rob Leetham, Scott Karim, Grace Hussey-Burd, and Darrel Bailey. As the immersive surroundings crumble and secrets are revealed, the true cost of controlling the narrative will become apparent, urging audiences to examine their own vulnerability in the face of power.

Composer Anna Meredith will provide the musical finale for this awe-inspiring production, immersing audiences in a battle between the defenders of Truth and the keepers of Order within a vast, ever-shifting digital archive. As the final founder fades and narratives collide, audiences will become active participants in the story, navigating this epic digital labyrinth, making choices, and determining the future of this precarious world.

STOREHOUSE is a unique blend of art, technology, and storytelling designed to spark critical thinking. New company Sage & Jester, founded by Liana Patarkatsishvili, aims to use curiosity, wisdom, and wit to create experiences that encourage critical engagement with information consumption and its societal impact.
