The beloved British sitcom Dad’s Army is marching into the West End for the very first time. Following multiple sold-out national tours and hit runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, Dad’s Army Radio Show will make its West End debut at the Duchess Theatre for one night only on Monday 16 June 2025, as part of a new UK tour marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Adapted from the legendary BBC comedy by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, this critically acclaimed stage production brings three classic episodes to life in a brand-new format — as if performed for live radio. With just two actors, two microphones, over 25 characters, and a flurry of sound effects, the show is a joyous tribute to the original TV series.
Starring David Benson (One Man, Two Guvnors, Goodnight Sweetheart) and Jack Lane (Wisdom of a Fool, 7 Days), who also voiced characters in Dad’s Army: The Animations on UKTV Gold, the show combines vintage music, rapid-fire costume-free character changes, and all the classic catchphrases that fans know and love.
The 2025 tour features three newly adapted episodes: The Love of Three Oranges, The Miser’s Hoard, and The Making of Private Pike. The tour is dedicated to the memory of Ian Lavender, the last surviving member of the original cast, who passed away in 2024.
Jack Lane said, “It’s a dream to make my West End debut at the Duchess Theatre with a show so close to my heart, alongside my great friend David.”
David Benson added, “We return with our beloved platoon and Perry & Croft’s genius scripts, carrying Ian Lavender’s spirit with us.”
Tickets start from £21.50 and are available now.
