Grace O'Keefe (Best Newcomer at Musical Comedy Awards ‘24, co-creator of five-star two-time EdFringe sell-out Bad Teacher) and Jordana Belaiche (award-winning writer, West End Credits: Little Cosette in Les Miserables, Jane Banks in Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Palladium) attempt to summon theatre kids’ God, Stephen Sondheim.
Co-written by Jordana and Grace with original music by Grace (with an occasional Sondheim parody) and directed and developed by Bel Parker, the show is a vehicle for elevating new womxn voices in musical theatre while venerating Sondheim’s legacy. After a hit Edinburgh Fringe run, Summoning Sondheim will be transferring to Seven Dials Playhouse in the West End for the week of Halloween.
Each show we feature a womxn musical theatre creative, previous guests include Rebecca Simmonds (Book/Lyrics for In Clay), Caroline Humphris (Musical Director on Sunday in the Park with George & A Little Night Music on the West End and Broadway) and Janie Dee (multi-Olivier winner, Sondheim’s Old Friends and Follies at the National).
