Theatre company Little Bulb with The Royal Opera present Wolf Witch Giant Fairy, a folk opera of music, mischief and magic, for UK cinema audiences from 25 October 2024. First premiered in 2021 in Covent Garden and revived in 2023, it now comes to the big screen for the first time.
Following the Olivier Award-winning run in 2021 (Best Family Show), audiences now have the chance to get up close with the ragtag band of wild musicians and beloved fairy tale characters as they guide all the family through this famous tale with new twists and turns, magic and song. Specially captured for the big screen in the Linbury Theatre, one of the West End’s most intimate theatres, this brand-new film gives the screen audience a great introduction to opera, music and theatre.
Conceived and created by Little Bulb (Alexander Scott, Clare Beresford and Dominic Conway), Wolf Witch Giant Fairy’s cast is comprised of Peter Braithwaite (Narrator), Clare Beresford (Red Riding Hood), Tom Penn (Wolf), Jon Whitten (Grandmother), Claire Wild (Mother / Baby Yaga), Alexander Scott (Cat), Dominic Conway (Head Villager), Eugénie Pastor (Golden Goose), Shamira Turner (Peddler) and Miriam Gould (Giant).
The creative team is made up of Set and Costume Designer Samuel Wyer, Lighting Designer Joshua Pharo, Sound Designer Ed Clarke and Consultant Musical Director Yshani Perinpanayagam.
