Hackney-based theatre company Foreign Affairs proudly presents the UK premiere of Black Swans by Christina Kettering, translated from German by Pauline Wick. Starring co-artistic directors Camila França and Trine Garrett, and directed by Ria Samartzi, the production will be staged at Omnibus Theatre from 23 April to 11 May.

Imagine the weight of a decision – choosing a humanoid robot caregiver for your elderly mother. Black Swans tackles this emotionally charged issue and explores the ethical and moral dilemmas of introducing AI into human caregiving, offering a poignant (and often humorous) look at family dynamics, societal norms and the pervasive influence of technology on our lives.

‘This production is deeply personal for us,’ says Trine Garrett. ‘Not only are Camila and I returning to our roots as actors, but the play also resonates with me deeply due to my experience of caring for my terminally ill mother. It provokes pressing questions about humanity in today's digital age.’

Dedicated to community engagement, Foreign Affairs will host a public programme alongside the production, featuring workshops for young people in Hackney, post-show talks and a networking event.

Tickets are now on sale with an Early Bird offer closing on Thursday 7 March.
