'The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show' now on at the Ambassadors Theatre is ideal for very young children - it has great charm, is not at all scary and is not too long!

A very gentle hour in which four of Eric Carleā€™s captivating books -The Artist who painted a Blue Horse, Mister Seahorse, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course The Very Hungry Caterpillar are retold with great clarity and simplicity.

Jonathan Rockefeller has adapted them faithfully for the stage using seventy five magnificent puppets. These are manipulated with quiet dexterity by Sarah Hamilton, Andrew Cullimore, Adam Ryan and the largely hidden Katie Haygarth.

Although the show starts slowly, the pace eventually picks up and the action becomes more varied, until finally in the Very Hungry Caterpillar the audience are encouraged to participate actively and join in the well known lines.

If you have read these stories to your children they will love seeing them brought to life in this magical way. So hurry down to catch the show in its limited five week season in London before it departs on its UK tour.
