Amadeus
Following a sell-out run last year, Amadeus returns to the Olivier in 2018. Michael Longhurst’s acclaimed production of Peter Shaffer’s iconic play features live orchestral accompaniment by the Southbank Sinfonia. Adam Gillen and Lucian Msamati reprise the roles of Mozart and Salieri.

Beginning
Following a critically-acclaimed, sold-out run at the NT, David Eldridge’s Beginning transfers to the Ambassadors Theatre, West End. Justine Mitchell and Sam Troughton reprise their highly praised roles in this season’s must-see hit, directed by Polly Findlay.

Macbeth
William Shakespeare’s most intense and terrifying tragedy is directed by Rufus Norris. Rory Kinnear and Anne-Marie Duff play Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
Previews from 26 February, Press Night 6 March, in rep until 12 May with additional performances to be announced. NT Live will broadcast the production worldwide to cinemas on 10 May.
Julie
Polly Stenham updates Strindberg’s tragedy Miss Julie to contemporary London. Carrie Cracknell directs Vanessa Kirby in this new version.
Opens June 2018. Julie is a Travelex Show, with hundreds of £15 tickets available for every performance.
An Octoroon
Ned Bennett’s highly praised production for the Orange Tree Theatre of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ provocative and hilarious satire, An Octoroon transfers to the NT in a co-production.
Opens June 2018.
The Lehman Trilogy
In a new adaptation by Ben Power from Stefano Massini’s original production, Sam Mendes directs in a co-production with Neal Street Productions. This vast and poetic play unfolds in three parts over one evening, charting the extraordinary story of a family and a company that changed the world.
Opens July 2018.
Antony and Cleopatra
Simon Godwin directs Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo as the iconic lovers in a new production of Shakespeare’s tale.
Opens September 2018. The production will be broadcast worldwide as part of the 2018 NT Live season.
The National Theatre on Tour and Internationally
War Horse and Hedda Gabler tour the UK and Ireland. In total, the NT will tour to 40 venues in 36 towns and cities across the UK, for a total of 115 playing weeks, until March 2019.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time continues to tour the world, including Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore, with further dates to be announced.
Angels in America transfers to the Neil Simon Theatre, Broadway from February for a strictly limited run.
